I can take her anywhere. She blends in and stands out. She can hold her own. I enjoy her stories as much as everyone else does, even if I’m hearing them for the third or fourth time. She makes people laugh. She makes me smile. She makes us think, invites us to share.

A Brief Guide to World Domination, Olivia Pope Style
Lesson One: There is always another move to be made.
Quinn: So, we lost? I mean, what happens when we lose? We’re just…done?
Olivia: We’re never done. If we lose this round, we prep him for appeal. If we lose that, we prep him for a second appeal because whatever happens, there’s always another move. Whatever happens, we do not give up. It is my name on that door and I do not give up.
Did you hear that? Olivia Pope DOES NOT LOSE. Not necessarily because she always gets it right the first time, but because she doesn’t give up. The lesson here? There is always another move to be made.
In other words, don’t be afraid to try something and “fail.” Olivia says it herself: failing just means that you didn’t learn, adjust, and, most importantly, try again.
fall is for spoons
This year, Fall is about more than great weather and natural scenic beauty. It’s the season that we fell in love. It represents warm nights in “the big bed”, soup and crescent rolls, scarves covering hickeys… my heart racing as I caught sight of you in your leather jacket climbing the stairs to my apartment, making fun of your insanely comfy carpet shoes… It’s a prelude to Birthmas Day, a flashback to The Biltmore…memories of lawn burritos and ice cream on the farm. fall is for lovers and big spoons and little spoons, now and forever hereafter.
Babygirl and I are having a “business meeting” over tea on Thursday morning to discuss finances, a monthly budget, and fun things that we are looking forward to doing together. =) Ahhh, the domestic bliss continues.
